Hooray! |
Some good news to share with my readers--I am finally making a transition from "aspiring children's librarian" to actual children's librarian! I have been offered a full-time position as a children's librarian with one of the largest public library systems in the US. I will be starting in a few weeks at a branch in a suburb of Los Angeles about 20 miles from my home.
I feel very lucky to get this job, since the job market for librarians, particularly here in California, remains very tight. I am planning to keep blogging about historial fiction and children's nonfiction here at the Fourth Musketeer, and Lisa at
Shelf-Employed and I are already thinking about Year 3 of
Kidlit Celebrates Women's History Month, so stay tuned!

Yay! Congrats! I can hardly wait to hear more about your job.
Fantastic! Maybe we'll take a field trip to your library when I learn where Hacienda Heights is. I love the picture, too!
Congratulations - that's great! Our school system last year let go five librarians (but hired two back recently), so I think you're quite fortunate. Keep sending the reviews!
Congratulations Margo! Those will be some fortunate kids who get you as their librarian!
Namaste,
Lee
Wonderful!! I'm pulling together a list of blogging teachers and librarians for the Spellbinders educators' newsletter. Off to update your information.
Hacienda Heights is lucky to have such a terrific children's librarian!
