48 hour book challenge!

I've never been an athlete--I'm just under 5'0 tall, and sports ability doesn't exactly run in my family, so when I saw Mother Reader's 48 hour Book Challenge, I said to myself, "finally, a sport where I can be competitive--reading!!!"

I started at 8:30 this morning, and have continued reading while waiting with my son for his camp physical, and next will be posting on my first finished book. I went to our wonderful local children's library here in Claremont, The Stone Center for Children's Books (which is affiliated with Claremont Graduate School), and got a pile of books, some of which were on my mental "to-read" list and some that were new to me, so I'm off and running!

Yeah, why didn't they have competitive reading in school? I would have rocked that. Happy reading!

I think competitive reading would be a great idea (and it would keep the kids quiet which many teachers would love). Good luck, I can see you're already three books in!

I will be checking back here to see what you are reading!

Appears to me a new course with syllabus is underway! Good luck, Margo; I'll be interested in reading how you are doing!

Yes, indeed, good luck and happy reading! Any historical fiction in that pile?

Yes! All historical fiction except Little Blog on the Prairie (which has historical elements!) and Smells like Dog, which I'm reading as a break (nothing historical about that one!)
